Hunger Action Heroes Feed People & Pets Across Our Communities
October 9, 2026
Throughout September, employees across our Company came together in support of people, pets, and communities during Hunger Action Month.
As a food company, we have a unique understanding of, and opportunity to address, hunger. One of our impact pillars is Ending Food Insecurity, and we bring this to life through our commitment to help ensure people have consistent access to trusted, quality food in our communities and beyond.
Our people brought that commitment to life throughout the month of September through volunteerism, giving, and community engagement. Through the 30+ Ways in 30 Days campaign, employees found a variety of avenues to get involved. Together, they supported 13 food- and pet-related causes, logging more than 320 volunteer hours!
Making an Impact Across Our Communities
Our workforce across the country participated in food rescue efforts that redirected surplus food to schools, housing communities, and community partners, as well as recurring volunteer opportunities at food pantries, meal programs, and community distributions. Some examples include:
- In Longmont, Colorado, our employees volunteered with Harvest of Hope Pantry
- In Edgerton, Kansas, employees helped distribute food to community members through Harvesters Community Food Network
- In Bentonville, Arkansas, employees built boxes and materials in support of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
Near our corporate headquarters in Orrville, Ohio, our team rallied around two Fill the Truck campaigns that benefited both people and pets locally. Together, nearly 1,000 pounds of food were collected for Feeding Medina County and more than 2,000 pounds of pet food and supplies were donated to the Wayne County Humane Society.
Our Legal Team led the way in support of Feeding Medina County, contributing more than 400 pounds of food. The Orrville Heritage Plant earned recognition for its support of the Wayne County Humane Society, alongside other groups, including Pet Brand Marketing, Research & Development, Information Services, and Procurement, whose donations helped make the food drive a success.
