Mark Smucker
Chief Executive Officer, President and Chair of the Board
Mark Smucker currently serves as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chair of the Board. In this role he leads the Company’s long-term strategy and oversees its commitment to meet the needs of all stakeholders – from the consumers who trust its products each day for themselves and their families and the dedicated employees who deliver the business, to the communities that count on the organization’s support and the shareholders invested in its long-term success.
As CEO, Mark has guided the Company’s evolution while establishing a foundation for continued growth. He has achieved this by developing a compelling vision and strategy, maintaining a strong culture rooted in core values, and cultivating an agile organization well positioned to deliver sustained results.
Professional Highlights
Smucker has led the holistic reshaping and optimization of the Company’s portfolio in his role as CEO to address evolving consumer preferences with popular brands such as Uncrustables®, Cafe Bustelo®, Meow Mix®, Milk-Bone®, Hostess®, Jif®, Smucker’s®, Folgers®, and Dunkin®.
He has also been instrumental in ensuring continued strategic investment in expanding capabilities to strengthen the organization. This included the evolution of a commercial discipline recognized for industry-leading excellence, to boldly usher its brands into culture while establishing category leadership to drive shared success with retail partners.
As Smucker has grown, Mark has championed and evolved the culture, guided by the Company’s Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other, that instills pride in employees while creating a positive, exciting atmosphere to attract new talent.
Prior to being named CEO, Mark held leadership roles in the Company’s major businesses, including serving as President of two of its largest divisions, Consumer & Natural Foods and Coffee.
Industry Leadership
Mark currently serves as the Chair of the Consumer Brands Association. The Consumer Brands Association champions the consumer-packaged goods industry and represents nearly 2,000 iconic brands that consumers depend on every single day while supporting more than 20 million American jobs. He is also the Vice Chair for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). NAM represents more than 14,000 member companies with a focus on inspiring free enterprise, competitiveness, individual liberty, and equal opportunity for the more than 13 million professionals who make the products consumers trust.
Community Leadership
In the local community, Mark supports several organizations including serving as Vice Chair of the Ohio Business Roundtable, which is focused on improving Ohio’s economic vitality to ensure the state remains an ideal location in which to live, work, and succeed.
Corporate Board Participation
Mark serves as a member of the Kimberly Clark Corporation (Kimberly-Clark) Board of Directors and chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Kimberly-Clark is a global personal care corporation with well-known brands like Huggies®, Kleenex®, Kotex®, Depend®, and Cottonelle®.
Educational Background
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary as well as a Master of International Management degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
