Todd The Hero Dog Wins The First-Ever Streamy For "Milk-Bone® Dog Of The Year Honor"

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- dick clark productions and Tubefilter announced last night that Todd, the Golden Retriever, won the first-ever "Milk-Bone® Dog of the Year Honor" at the 8th Annual Streamy Awards® in Beverly Hills. The honor was presented by passionate dog lover, Olympic Silver Medalist and freestyle skier, Gus Kenworthy.

Olympic Silver Medalist and freestyle skier, Gus Kenworthy, poses with Milk-Bone® Dog of the Year nominees, Louboutina the Hugging Dog, Todd the Hero Dog and Pierre Don’t Care, who were honored for traits that make them truly special, at the 2018 Streamy Awards.

Milk-Bone believes that all dogs, from service animals to everyday companions, do more for us and it's time our four-legged friends are officially recognized. The honor celebrates bravery, overcoming obstacles, strong personality and loyalty traits that make all dogs truly special.

Todd is the epitome of a good boy. His devotion is resolute, and it's proven daily to his owner Paula. No matter if the best or worst day, Todd is devoted- like a best friend should be. His heroism made waves in June 2018 when he saved his owner from a rattlesnake bite during a hike, causing the internet to swoon with love for this Golden Retriever. Though he recovered fully, that day will always be a reminder of his innate loyalty. As a ripple effect, a fundraiser posted by "Friends of Todd" was started to help other dogs who need to receive anti-venom medication. Todd's efforts continue to help others save other dogs in need.

"We are so honored to win the first-ever Milk-Bone Dog of the Year Honor," said Paula Godwin, Todd's pet parent. "To be a part of a celebration like this so rewarding since the Streamys is typically a people-only awards show. We are truly grateful and blessed. Todd will be celebrating with lots of Milk-Bone treats!"

"We created this honor because we believe that dogs deserve to be honored in the same way humans are honored," said Jonathan Rodgers, senior brand manager, Milk-Bone. "We are thrilled that fans voted for Todd to win the first ever Milk-Bone Dog of the Year Honor. Todd truly embodies the qualities associated with this honor and goes above and beyond by providing comfort and happiness to all of those around him," added Rodgers.

The award show was full of "doggone" adorable moments including a Milk-Bone Puppy Photobooth where attendees walking the red carpet could stop and take a picture with adorable puppies as well as a Thank You Camera for those winners who forgot to thank one of the most important members of the family…their dog.
